Description

This is a sterling silver shawl fastener with a silver pin. The pin can be used by itself without the body of the fastener. Entirely handmade, this is a lovely and very functional brooch for knitted or crocheted garments.

The body of the fastener is in the shape of a shield and is 1 5/8 in (41 mm) wide and 2 in (50 mm) high.  The stickpin is of sterling silver tubing, very light weight, and can be worn on its own.  The pin is 4 in (10 cm) long and has a 3/32 in (2.5 mm) diameter.  The head of the pin is 3/4 in (20 mm) wide and 1 in (25 mm) tall.  Lost wax casting and fabrication are the techniques used to create this contemporary jewelry.

I have used this shawl fastener myself and am pleased with this jewelry design.  The brooch is presented in a forest green or dark blue suede pouch with my logo embossed in gold.

The fastener is customizable for color as I make the shield body and the head of the pin in sterling silver, red bronze and yellow bronze.  One can even mix and match.  Let me know what colors you would like in the notes area of the order form or with an email.
